We had reported earlier that, the GST enforcement had pushed the ticket prices above the fixed rates that were existing for a very long time in Tamil Nadu. With the entertainment tax forcing this change, a lot of the audiences might have wondered what to do with these expensive ticket pricings.
Actor Vishal who addressed the press recently, spoke about this issue. He also talked about the possibilities to reduce the ticket prices for the sake of the audiences. He said:
“All of us will decide on something for the betterment together and we clearly understand the situation. Our only wish is that audiences must come and watch films in the theatres. First of all, we have to define if there is an entertainment tax or not. Also, online ticket bookings which charge Rs.30 per ticket is high. We are working towards reducing it. A lot of things are at the discussion stage and decisions will flow in soon.”
